My Big Book of First Words by North Parade

Listen and learn with My Big Book of First Words by North Parade. This educational children’s sound book contains over 350 sounds.

It has been specially designed to help your child build confidence and familiarity with letters and sounds, giving them the tools they need to decode words and get a head start with learning to read.

The sound book makes learning first words fun and interactive! Each double page is themed and has 30 photographic images with the written word under the image. Designed to support emerging readers as they develop their knowledge of letter sounds and begin to recognise key sight words.

The topics covered are: familiar faces (animals); in the wild (wild animals); at home (objects around the home); fun and games (musical instruments, toys); my clothes; my feelings (photos of children and young teens expressing 30 feelings); action time (photos of children depicting the actions); eat up: fruit and veg; my world (habitats, buildings); in my garden; things that go; numbers and counting (1 – 10 and colours). The images are all photographic.

The paper pages of the book sit on the sound module. An USB cable is included to charge the book. Age 3 years+

Instructions for use:

1. Turn the book on
2. Press the GO button to activate the sounds on each page
3. Press the sound button on each image in order to to hear the word and a sound (if a sound is associated with the image)
4. Press the Quiz button (top right of the double page) to start a quiz based around “can you find x?”.
