Shape It! Sand Red by Relevant Play

Shape it! Sand Red by Relevant Play is an advanced and versatile, two-in-one, non-toxic sand-based compound. It may be used in its soft form, where it can be moulded and compressed to make sand sculptures. However, it can also be compacted and baked in the oven. This allows the product to take on a solid form, which can then be carved and painted. This can be used to develop carving and painting skills for art students or to simply create a lasting childhood memory. Shape it! allows children to develop fine motor skills through fun play. It also helps to develop imagination by allowing children to be creative with their hands and bring their ideas to life in 3 dimensional form.

Shape It Sand by Relevant Play can be used in two ways: Soft Phase and Hard Phase.

Soft Phase: Shape-It Sand® comes in a soft malleable phase and it is just a matter of packing the material into a small form or simply modeling it with your hands. The reusable material will never dry out and can be used over and over again.

Hard Phase: Place a block of Shape-It Sand® in a household oven for 1 hour at 250° F/125° C. Allow the block of sand to cool in the oven. It now transforms into a synthetic-like stone, and becomes an ideal carving material. Water-based paints can be applied to the sculpture in the hard phase.

Shape-It Sand® repels water, and can actually float! This enables the artist to incorporate water into their sculpture without any damage. You can use it to make personal imprints to moulds for plaster or concrete.

Shape-It Sand® is produced in Sweden out of carefully selected raw materials. It conforms to European and American safety standards EN71 and ASTM D4236.

What is the difference between kinetic sand and Shape It Sand? Shape It sand holds its shape more firmly and can also be made into a permanent model when baked making it a great resource for artistic children. Kinetic sand is more suitable for sensory play.
