This agreement is between us – Cambridge Lighthouse Limited (registered in England and Wales number 5010968) – and yourself and, if you represent an organisation, your organisation. Consequently you must have the authority to agree in full to these terms and conditions and be aged at least 18 years. We trade in the UK; you (and your organisation) must have a UK address. This agreement is governed by the law of England and Wales.
The purpose of the Affiliate Programme is for us to reward you when you successfully promote our products. The level of reward is 3% commission on the value of sales of products, i.e. the total transaction value minus the delivery charge. Any different level of reward must be agreed in writing. The commission will be reduced when an order is partially refunded. There will be no commission on a cancelled or fully refunded order.
We will pay you your commission by direct bank transfer after you (or your organisation) has invoiced us. If your invoice exceeds the commission earned then we will postpone the payment until either sufficient commission has been earned or we have received a correcting credit note.
We will provide you with:
- at least one URL that is specific to you / your organisation, called an affiliate link;
- by agreement, discount codes that are specific to you / your organisation, called affiliate codes.
When you promote our products, you will provide an affiliate link or code to your readers. As you receive a reward for the promotion it is legally classified as an advertisement so it must obey the advertisement rules. Please study the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) website here: https://www.asa.org.uk/. Having read the above, you will now understand that when you promote us and our products, even though we may have made no contribution to your advertisement, we (as well as you) are legally responsible for the advertisement. If you do not comply with the guidelines you will bring us into disrepute and your Affiliate Programme with us will be terminated.
When your affiliate link is followed, our website places a cookie on the customer’s browser. This is so that a subsequent purchase can be associated with you and eventually you receive your reward. The duration of the cookie is typically 30 days, after which the browser will automatically delete it. So there is a time window when a purchase will be associated with you. You will only be eligible to receive commission when the cookie is present. It is also possible that the customer has followed an affiliate link from another affiliate within the time window, or used a code from another affiliate. We will pay commission for a transaction to just one affiliate.
As we will need your bank details in order to pay your commission, our Privacy Policy is extended for affiliates:
- All of the customer Privacy Policy applies to you as an affiliate, and in addition;
- We collect your bank account details;
- Your bank account details are stored on our web server;
- We send your bank details to our bank in order to pay you;
- Your bank account details will be deleted when you cease to be an affiliate.
We sell educational products and toys which are primarily for children. Your advertisements must be appropriate and displayed alongside appropriate content. Inappropriate content includes:
- witchcraft and the occult, religious or political content;
- pornographic, offensive or violent content;
- gambling, lotteries, alcohol, tobacco, drugs, firearms.
We expect you to promote our brand and products for example though:
- Your organisation’s website, blog, emails and newsletters;
- Social media where permitted;
- Reviews on our products on your website, blog etc.
We do not permit:
- Spamming;
- Misrepresentation of our brand and products;
- Using paid advertising for your affiliate link or code;
- Placing your affiliate link or code on any coupon site.
We reserve the right to update these terms and conditions from time to time without notice. Either party may end the agreement for any reason, stated or unstated, at any time with any (or no) notice period in writing e.g. by email. No reward will be paid after termination of the agreement.
