What personal data we collect and why we collect it
We collect different information from our customers at different places in our websites. Here are listed the different ways by which we acquire your data as you interact with our websites and what we, and you, can do with your data.
On placing an order or creating a customer account
We collect some (or all) of the following:
- Billing name, address, telephone number and email address
- Shipping name, address, telephone number and email address
- Date (and time for a website order) the order was placed
- Any notes that you provide us
- IP address used to place the order
This is what we do with it:
- For an order placed on our website, your card details are passed directly to our payment processor (Stripe or PayPal) for processing and are not stored by our website
- For an order placed by person or by telephone, your card details are captured directly by our card machine (and are used in accordance with the PCI DSS regulations that govern card data)
- When we ship your order by the Royal Mail, we pass the delivery address (and any delivery notes) to them so that they can deliver your order
- When we ship your order by a courier, we pass the delivery address, any delivery notes, email address and phone number to them so that they can deliver your order efficiently
- Delivery notes / packing slips are sent with a delivery and contain both the billing and shipping details i.e. the name(s), address(es), telephone number(s) and email address(es) as well as any notes to help with the delivery.
On making a comment or placing a review
When visitors leave a comment or review on the site we collect the data shown in the comments / review form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Contact forms
If you use the contact form, in addition to all the data that you provide in the form, we collect the date, time, IP address and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

How long we retain your data
We destroy orders / transaction data when we are legally able to, for example we are obliged to keep records of our order / transaction details for seven years for tax / legal purposes.
If you leave a comment or review, the data and its metadata are retained for the lifetime of the product.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase or correct any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
